As a reading specialist in training I believe that acieving maximum impact where the need is greatest should be the priority. This is indeed a matter for strategic planning involving a cross-section of relevant stakeholders. The onus is on each of us, however, to continue our professional development in this field through a personal commitment to reflectio, ongoing research and collaboration among ourselves and others aiming to achieve similar objectives vis the many students who are struggling readers.
